Sarah Basse is a Seattle native and received her BA in Linguistics with a Spanish Minor from the University of Washington in 2006. Her academic concentrations have been in the areas of Sociolinguistic research design and implementation, especially into Northwest dialects of English; Spanish Phonology Acquisition and translation studies; as well as Hispanic cinema. She has participated in community service work throughout Mexico, and lived in Guadalajara, Jalisco during 2005. Sarah studied Hispanic Linguistics at the CEPE department of the Universidad de Guadalajara. During the 2008-2009 academic year Sarah lived in Riga, Latvia, where she studied Latvian language, and learned a great deal about Latvian culture and history.
