Andrew Bryant, MPH has a
background in international health, social work, and community-oriented
public health research and practice. He holds Bachelor’s degrees
in Biology and International Studies and a Master’s degree in
Public Health (with a certificate in International Health) from the
University of Washington School of Public Health and Community Medicine
in Seattle. His public health research has focused on international
health promotion and program evaluation, as well as mental health
epidemiology and the psychosocial determinants of mental and physical
health in the United States. Before joining HRA in 2006, Andrew worked
as a research assistant for an international nonprofit health
organization where he developed and evaluated maternal and newborn
health promotion programs in East Timor. He has also worked in
Guatemala, where he helped develop a GIS tracking system for a primary
health care pilot program, and in Argentina, where he interned with the
Buenos Aires Department of Social Services. He has work experience in
the United States includes environmental research, Spanish instruction,
social work with homeless adults. He is currently based in New York
City as a Project Coordinator for HRA studies.
